Kalapipa - Carved wooden console n°1

This console table was made from a heavy old indian door. The front is part of the door leaf, while the frame has been reused to make the legs. The bleached wood color of the console table contrasts with the rusty iron details, and highlights the star pattern of the original door. The small metal plaque seen to the right of the console table has been preserved; it is typical of indian doors and bears the address or name of the owner, when the door still served as an entrance door. The door frame was nicely decorated with deep square carvings; these now decorate the legs of this console table. The reasonable size of this console table will allow it to fit into most interiors. Its signs of wear testify to its experience as a door to a real house somewhere in india. They make this console table a unique piece! This piece of furniture was made from old, even very old, wooden architectural elements. It therefore has irregularities.
