Small Art Deco console/side table with three levels, shelves, circa 1930. The piece is made of walnut and rests on four curved wooden legs, typical of the period. The three shelves have different dimensions. The smallest, at the top, measures 27.5 cm wide by 24 cm deep. The middle shelf measures 42.5 cm wide by 26.5 cm deep. The bottom shelf measures 42.5 cm wide by 23.5 cm deep. It is in very good overall condition, original and vintage, with some light marks, signs of wear, slight discolouration, and normal usage traces for a piece of this age, as well as a patina, as one would expect for an item of this age. A fine crack (on the surface and without depth) on the top due to age is visible on the first two shelves (see photos). The furniture has been gently cleaned, oiled, and waxed to preserve its original patina. It was part of the furnishings of the officers' quarters at the CI 112 airbase, established in 1909 in Reims-Champagne, an important base of the French Air Force. The date 30/08/1938 is inscribed under the table (see photo). All photos were taken in natural outdoor light; colours may therefore vary depending on brightness, reflections from the stone, angles of view, and perspective.
