1950s vintage suspension

Very pretty vintage pendant light from the 1950s, with a delightfully retro charm, featuring a superb white opaline glass shade adorned with a painted decor with Japanese accents. The shade has a particularly elegant slightly bulging shape, with a scalloped and wavy edge that gives it a lot of softness. The very fine white opaline glass diffuses a warm and pleasant light, ideal for creating a cosy atmosphere. The decor represents an Asian landscape, notably featuring a small traditional pagoda-like structure, surrounded by hills, water, and vegetation, with delicate shades of blue, green, and brown standing out against the white of the opaline, giving this pendant a lot of character. The upper part retains its original metal mount, with its patinated brass fixing system, porcelain cap, and white textile/electrical cable. It is equipped with a bayonet socket that can accommodate an E27 bulb. Overall in good vintage condition, with small marks, traces, and imperfections related to age and use, which contribute to the charm of this antique piece; it is functional.
