He made his debut at the unga tengnare exhibition at the national museum in 1947. Two years later, he received a scholarship of maria leander-engström, and in 1957 the scholarship of the friends of the värmland museum. He exhibited with carl nyland in karlskoga in 1950, with oskar person in 1951, and with olle hermansson in 1953 and 1959 at galerie æsthetica in stockholm. He also took part in the group exhibitions black and white at the national museum in 1955, the exhibition of the nordic art association in gothenburg in 1957, the exhibition föreningen graphica ung graphic in lund in 1959. In 1998, the karlskoga art gallery inaugurated a retrospective exhibition celebrating einar person's 80th birthday. On february 11, 2000, an exhibition of einar person's graphics opened at degerfors folkets hus, and was also shown at hagfors. His output consisted of landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and figural studies. Persson is represented in the national museum, stockholm contemporary museum and värmland museum in karlstad, h.m. Royal collections and malmö museum, eskilstuna art museum and örebro county council. In october 2021, a jubilee exhibition organized by the karlskoga art association was held at the karlskoga art hall. At the same time, a book about the life and artwork of einar persson was published.
