Set of 5 Longwy Cyprus vintage dessert plates, featuring polychrome Orientalist or colonial decoration, 19th century, ideal for dessert, appetizers, or hors d'oeuvres. These beautiful dessert plates come from the prestigious French manufacture Longwy. They are distinguished by their exquisite decor in the chinoiserie or Orientalist style, which was very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The central decoration, hand-painted by transfer, depicts a pagoda, lush tropical vegetation with palm trees, and a river, evoking an exotic and serene landscape. A rich sienna/reddish-brown border, adorned with architectural motifs and scrolls, is punctuated by four bouquets of polychrome flowers (roses and yellows) that bring freshness and colour. The set perfectly combines the technique of transfer printing with hand-painted touches, characteristic of fine earthenware from the period. In good vintage condition. No cracks or chips.
