Old indian window

This ancient part comes from gujarat. It was surely an element of an altar as found in all hindu houses, or perhaps it was used to cover a niche. The floral motifs, representing foliage, flowers and two pomegranates (deep and non-symmetrical carvings), give an idea of the age of this room, probably 19th century. Rings were attached to the back so that it could be hung on the wall, as a decorative piece.
