Antique Indian Jewellery Box With Mirror

A fine wooden jewellery box from rajasthan. It has good handcarved details on all surfaces and the original internal mirror, now fogged with age. There is a removable wooden tray, giving the piece added functionality. It has the original german lock intact, though no key and signs that it once had a retaining chain, so that the mirror could be held upright, in situ and this could be replaced if needed. A lovely, unique, great quality and very solid, usable box, with the patina and wear commensurate with age. Dimensions: height 20cm width 30cm depth 15cm.
