Incredible table lamp model ‘Arc en Ciel’ designed by Andrea Bellosi and manufactured by Studio Alchimea in Italy in 1978. An incredible post-modern design which not only illuminates your space, but also brings in colour and warmth. This lamp projects a stunning full spectrum rainbow color on the wall or ceiling. The lamp consists of two arch-shaped sides made of Carrara marble, along with a marble base with rounded edges. Hanging in the middle is a half-shaped metal circle that acts as the lampshade and it can be adjusted to give either a narrow or wide beam of light. Create a colorful, cozy ambience with this stunning lamp and shine a happy light in your home! Studio Alchimia, founded by Alessandro Guerriero and Bruno Gregori in Milan, Italy, aimed to challenge Modernism’s rationality by embracing irony and metaphor in design. Positioned between radical design groups and the Memphis group, Alchimia focused on transforming historical designs, banal objects, and kitsch into new, visually striking creations. They explored various mediums including furniture, fashion, jewelry, and graphic design. Early furniture collections like Bau.Haus Uno and Due were handmade reinterpretations of historical models with added colorful elements. Alchimia also collaborated with Zanotta to mass-produce some designs, bridging craftsmanship with industry. Notable designers associated with Alchimia included Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass, and Paola Navone. Literature; Halogen, page 92. Designer: Andrea Bellosi. Manufacturer: Studio Alchimea.
