Robert Picault for Longchamp – "Bird" Plate from the 1960s

Elegant circular plate in glazed earthenware produced by the French manufacturer Longchamp, featuring a remarkable black graphic design on a white background, attributed to Robert Picault. The design consists of smooth, continuous lines forming a stylised composition that blends plant shapes, foliage, and silhouettes reminiscent of birds. A modernist aesthetic particularly representative of the work disseminated by Longchamp in the mid-20th century. The decoration is entirely executed on a glazed white background and offers a strong graphic presence while remaining very understated. The reverse bears the Longchamp stamp.
