Mid-Century Oval Teak Extending Dining Table from G-Plan, United Kingdom, 1960s

This extending dining table was manufactured by the British furniture maker G-Plan during the 1960s. The piece represents the Mid-Century Modern design characteristic of the period, combining a light, timeless form with high-quality craftsmanship. The table is crafted from teak wood. It features an oval tabletop with sculpted, reinforced edges and slender tapered legs. Carefully selected teak veneer showcases the decorative, symmetrically arranged natural grain of the wood. The table features an extension mechanism and an additional centrally positioned extension leaf, significantly increasing the usable dining surface. When fully extended, the table reaches a length of 209 cm. The table has undergone professional woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating and finished with high-quality Danish oil, which protects the surface while enhancing the natural grain and warm colour of the teak.
