Ashtray / geode bowl in murano glass turquoise and amber (barbini)

Period: ca. 1950-1970. A very nice little bowl of organic shape with eye-catching colors. The bowl is composed of a bright opaque turquoise, white, and a clear amber colored glass; the combination gives a golden effect to amber. The bowl has a large flat edge showing the layers; that's why it's often called a geode bowl. This bowl may have been designed to be an ashtray. This can be attributed to barbini with some certainty; the colors are very typical for his work. The sticker reads "murano italy". State: Ok. The only flaw is a superficial crack that goes just under the sticker (i couldn't remove the sticker without tearing it in order to check/photograph underneath) Size: See photo.
