Sculptural uplight floor lamp known as the “bridgelampe”, designed by louis poulsen in the 1930s. Made from lacquered and browned iron, with a flared chalice-shaped reflector that softly directs light upwards. Model number 11170, this design appears in louis poulsen’s 1936 catalogue—right alongside poul henningsen’s famous “ph” lamps. The “bridgelampe” was part of a new wave of functional lighting in denmark during the 1930s, combining simple forms with smart light diffusion, well before mid-century design became popular.
