19th century carved gilded wood church panel

Old panel, woodwork element, trapezoidal tabernacle door in carved gilded wood. The sculpture is monoxyl, carved from the mass (made from a 5 cm thick panel) the wood is a hardwood such as walnut. The decoration is in strong relief, the cross is cut in perspective. Radiant cross planted on golgotha, 4 faces of angels all different with wings spread at the end of the rays. An angel with outstretched wings, finely chiseled feathers, supports the whole golgotha plus cross. The gilding is not uniform, leaf gilding on plate with red gilding on the reliefs and restorations. Perfect used condition, beautiful transparency, without opacity or haze, cracks or chips, slight wear from stacking underneath, tiny scratches, the gilding is perfect, see photo. Height: 40 cm width: 25.7 cm at the base, 27.3 cm at the top thickness: approximately 5 cm at the thickest other pretty objects, in my other sales.
