"Ice Cube" candle holders in solid glass attributed to Peill & Putzler - All

Set of three cubic candle holders in moulded transparent glass, attributed to the German manufacturer Peill & Putzler. Their reversible design allows for dual use: for standard candles on one side and tealights or votive candles on the other. The thick glass features remarkable internal sculpting, producing elegant effects of refraction and light. Typical characteristics of German modernist design from the 1970s, these pieces combine functionality with sculptural aesthetics. With their geometric aesthetic and the work of thick glass, these models perfectly illustrate German design from the 1970s, at the intersection of Space Age, modernist, and brutalist influences. In good vintage condition despite the presence of micro-scratches and small chips around the openings for the wider candles. Total weight 2.775kg.
