Vintage design bed René Gabriel

Very nice double bed in solid oak by designer rené gabriel. This designer imagines and produces in the post-war years, a whole set of furniture (wardrobe, sideboard, table, bed, etc...) to quickly furnish the population. These pieces of furniture called "disaster furniture" are quick to produce, removable while being of good quality. This bed is designed to receive a box spring of 140cm X 190cm. It is referenced n°155 in the catalog of post-war reconstruction furniture. It was made of raw wood but a little dusty, so it was cleaned with iron straw and protected by a matte colorless oil that keeps the warm and raw appearance of the wood. This oil has no odor and is not toxic (suitable for food contact). It is in good condition for its over 70 years. There are a few rare xylophagous holes but this bed had been treated by the former owner years ago. 198cm X 151cm for maximum dimensions. 75cm high for the headboard. 55cm high footboard.
