Moka pot from the "Accademia" series, designed by Ettore Sottsass and Matteo Thun for the Italian manufacturer Lagostina in 1984. Made of lacquered aluminium, this version combines a metallic green body with a large yellow geometric handle and a red lid lever. A particularly graphic composition, directly inherited from the research conducted by Sottsass and Thun around the Memphis movement. The design plays on the contrast between cylindrical volumes and angular lines: a truncated conical base, an elongated body, a triangular spout, and a widely open handle. The bold colours highlight each function of the object and transform this domestic coffee pot into a true small piece of table architecture. Large model of the series, in its green, yellow, and red version. Stamped "Lagostina" under the base. Italy, 1984. 24x13x6cm.
