A hand-carved collectible object by the Finnish artist Matti Martikka. A chair made from solid pine, crafted from fallen tree trunks. This stump-shaped chair was acquired from a museum in his hometown of Townes. This chair is usable but somewhat unstable, making it more of a work of art. A unique opportunity to acquire a rare decorative item. Other works of his have been sold at some of the world's largest auction houses and exhibited in various museums. "Matti Martikka, originally from South Karelia, was a locally known carpenter. His woodworking hobby began with small everyday items made for the home, but eventually, the interior decoration of the house was dominated by increasingly larger wooden objects. Martikka sculpted chairs from tree trunks and made large log tables. He never sold his furniture but kept it for his museum in Joutseno."
