Iron earth is a fine earthenware made whiter and more resistant thanks to the addition of feldspar (a mineral compound) and kaolin (white clay). Earthenware compared to porcelain is lighter and has a matte appearance. It was widely used at the end of the 19th century to make old tableware sets like these 5 mismatched but perfectly matched plates that we are offering you and which date from the same period. Among them we find 4 models manufactured by the sarreguemines manufacture: a favorite model "mésanges" very popular with lovers of old tableware. A carmen model with a delicate butterfly; a vega model and her big thoughts a flore model. The last plate comes from the badonvillers manufacture and it is les mûres. Each monochrome decor in shades of blue is remarkable for its finesse. The patterns are precise, careful. The rich fillings and attention to detail are evident in each one. These old pieces with remarkable aesthetics are treasures of know-how to which we are always happy to offer new life... The 5 models bear traces of time passed but remain very beautiful with still strong colors. Note a thread on the flore model (see photo) but without any porosity, and a few chips but only located on the edges or below. They therefore in no way affect the magnificent rendering. Diameter: from 22.5 cm to 23 cm.
