Holophane Suspension

This is a Holophane floor lamp from the 1960s, originating from Paris, which has been converted into a pendant light. The characteristic of Holophane luminaires, or lighting fixtures, is the borosilicate glass reflector. The glass prisms (ribs) provide a combination of upward and downward light to evenly illuminate any environment without creating dark spots or glare. This lamp is therefore perfect for all applications where uniform lighting is desired. The Holophane glass has been cast in two halves and assembled. Stripped and gently hand-polished, the lamp is fully restored. New porcelain E27 socket. Height: 63 cm.
