Pendant light T 742 by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for H-A Jakobsson AB, Markaryd, brushed golden aluminum, Sweden 1960s

This is one of Hans-Agne Jakobsson big decorative aluminum pendant lights. The iconic t 742. It is constructed from 5 golden colored brushed aluminum plates with white lacquer on the inside. The slightly overlapping rings reflect the light downwards ont the next giving the shade spectacular look. It also spreads a soft warm light downwards perfect for a large dinner table. The light is in good condition with only light scratches consistent with age. All designers and producer labels intact. Hans-agne jakobsson was undeniably one of the world’s most versatile and productive lighting designers and manufacturers in the fifties, sixties and seventies. He was also one of the best and most important designers in the Scandinavian era of golden and soft non-dazzle light. His earlier designs follow Scandinavian giants such as poul henningsen, paavo tynell and alvar aalto and he should be seen as important as the concurrent world renowned nordic lighting designers greta magnusson-grossman, lisa johansson-pape, verner panton and jo hammerborg. It takes a standard e27 light bulb.
