Description
4-drawer 4-drawer solid walnut and polished walnut magnifying glass veneer. This restoration dresser makes the transition from the premier empire style to the romantic louis philippe style. The change lies in the structure with the appearance of discrete curves. The corners and edges of the trays are rounded. The three large drawers are framed by moulded chopsticks and lightly carved with foliage and flowers that highlight the framing of the façade. Entrances of bronze crafted locks. The rectangular moulded wooden tray, painted black, rests on a rear-end belt with a fourth drawer. A base consisting of a plinth joining low feet. As early as 1820, the mechanization of the workshops allowed the production of cheaper furniture for the small and middle-class. Furniture manufacturers in major cities produced large quantities of dressers until the end of the 19th century. This production is facilitated by the simple structure of this furniture with smooth surfaces that are easy to plate. Good general condition, small strokes and a minimal detachment at the veneer, the tray has some cracks. Very nice patina.
