Plaster rosette for ceiling light - early 20th

This traditional staff ceiling rosette offers a remarkable diameter. It is likely that this neoclassical piece was made in the early 1920s. Plaster is the ideal and historical material for mouldings, cornices and other ceiling ornaments. Resilient and eco-friendly, it also allows a finesse of work for staffers who can imagine many shapes, from the most whimsical to the most refined. These decorative objects were intended to give an ostensible character of richness to the dwellings in which they took place. The perfectly circular rosette you find here is imposing but mostly graceful; volutes, dishes and plant motifs frolic harmoniously.
