Mid-Century Modern Teak Coffee Table from McIntosh, 1960s

This coffee table was manufactured by the British furniture maker A.H. McIntosh during the 1960s. The piece is a characteristic example of British Mid-Century Modern design, combining a light, elegant form with practical functionality. The table is crafted from teak wood and features two sliding side tops, which allow the usable surface to be significantly increased. The side tops are finished in a contrasting dark colour, giving the piece its distinctive appearance. Slender tapered legs and gently rounded corners emphasize the characteristic design of the 1960s. The table has undergone comprehensive woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating, stained in an oak colour, and finished with a durable high-quality semi-matt lacquer.
