Description
Ricard ceramics. Beautiful and important ashtray, with round, generous and curved shapes, made of ceramic with celadon background, the interior enamelled purple; rich decoration painted with a brush, extending on the side in polychromy, large blooming and stylized flowers, which can both evoke naive art, and germanic ceramics of the fifties. Interesting design, vintage, typical of the mid-twentieth century, around 1960: beautiful colors, both soft, bright but nevertheless bright; pleasant shapes, all round... Handwritten signature affixed with a brush, on the reverse of the base, "céramiques ricard", with, attached, the initials of the painter-potter.|this particular production emanates from a ceramics art workshop founded by paul ricard in the var. This workshop was originally intended to create advertising pieces for ricard drinks, but which would differ from serial pieces and industrial proofs. Little by little, the productions of this workshop were oriented - as is the case here, through the ashtray that we present - towards ceramic art, without real link, nor advertising aspect, with ricard drinks.|dimensions: height, 08.50 cm; diameter at opening, 10.00 cm; maximum diameter, approx. 19.00 cm. Condition report: excellent general condition: no cracks, no splinter or accidents; bright and unaltered colors; beautiful enamel quality, shiny. Some cracks of age and very slight enamelling defects of origin, without any gravity (and original). Overall, this ashtray is in perfect condition.
