Ceramic coffee table signed Jacques Lignier

Round coffee table (coffee table) in Vallauris ceramic, signed Jacques Lignier. Black metal base. Very good state. Note: a missing pad (visible in photo) but can be easily replaced. Jacques Lignier was a sculptor, painter and ceramist. Coming from a family of artists, he began his career with Janselme, a great Parisian cabinetmaker and decorator from the interwar period. After the war he settled in Juan-les-Pins where he prospered in decoration, notably participating in the Méribel program with Charlotte Périand. In Vallauris he will become Picasso's neighbor and friend.
