A trio of handmade sheep, designed by Hans Peter Krafft and manufactured by Meier in Germany in the 1980s. These sheep are the affordable design response to the famous bronze and wool sheep by François Xavier Lalanne from the 1960s. Hans Peter Krafft created these sheep with beautiful wooden legs and snouts, genuine authentic sheep skins, and glass eyes. They come in different sizes and colors, and each sheep has its own character. One has short fur, while the other two have longer fur. They can be used as stools but are primarily playful objects to look at. There is something about a sheep that brings calm and happiness. We associate them with the peaceful good things in life. Bringing the countryside indoors reminds us of a simpler time when we were more surrounded by nature and lived at a slower pace, enjoying the simple things in life. The smallest sheep has painted black eyes instead of glass eyes. There are some signs of wear on the leather ears; otherwise, it is in good patinated condition.
