Description
Vico Magistretti is a model for Italian designers. In the mid-1980s, he created a series of new kind of furniture for 'De Padova', which can be used both in the office and at home. The "Silver" chair and armchairs, designed in 1989, are from this collection and have become classics of the brand. Silver illustrates Magistretti's attachment to the historical roots of design. The designer was inspired by a wooden chair designed by Marcel Breuer for tuna in 1925. Magistretti redesigned the model of the 1920s, he updated it using modern materials: the wood of the structure gives way to solid and light aluminum. The straw on the seat and back is replaced by coloured polypropylene. The aluminium structure comes in two finishes: shiny or sainy. The Silver chair comes in a variety of colours: white, black, orange, cobalt blue and grey. The Silver collection also includes a chair and a swivel chair.
