Description
This box includes surgeon's tools, everything is from the early twentieth century. These instruments developed by pierre-jules béniqué (1806-1851) were used to dilate the male urethra, following a narrowing related to a local bacterial or parasitic infection, causing urinary retention. These probes, curved, have an increasing numbering from 37 to 60. From one graduation to the next, the diameter varies by one-sixth of a mm. These instruments were used extensively during the great war due to the large number of venereal diseases at the time. We report stains on the box, peeled corners, note that a screw is missing at the clasp, oxidation on the copper plate, traces of wear and deformation on the tools. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the condition, thank you for detailing the photos. H5314. Feel free to zoom in. Photos are an integral part of the description. Size: Casket. Height: 8 cm. Width: 30 cm. Depth: 22.8 cm.
