1920's wooden desk

This is a recently restored wooden desk believed to be designed in the 1920’s, with the red and blue colours being the original combination of this piece. The main colour of the table is bright red with a vivid blue draw handles, which creates an impactful visual contrast. This piece is rather unusual one in more aspects than just the striking colours. It has got a very narrow rectangle table top of only 35 cm depth with two softly curved edges at the front. The table top is then supported by a cupboard with four sliding drawers on one side and a simple wooden support on the other. For a better stability of the whole piece, these two parts are also connected on the bottom by a wooden rod. Strangely this support is in the front side of the desk. It is unknown to us whether this piece was used as a dressing table or was part of a bespoke project or simply used as a narrow side table. The desk was in a sad condition when acquired but it has been fully revived to its former glory. Refurbished by a highly experienced specialist restorer who was using original techniques, materials and paints, this piece has been brought back to a very good vintage condition.
