English coffee table in mahogany – Victorian legs circa 1880 – provenance

Elegant English mahogany coffee table, featuring a Victorian base from around 1880. Acquired from British Import in 1994, it comes with its original document, which states: "A mahogany coffee table of English origin, the base of this table is Victorian circa 1880." The piece consists of a rectangular top with rounded corners, bordered in mahogany and featuring an elegant inner lining with a gold fillet decoration. The top is protected by a safety glass plate. The mahogany base is particularly decorative: openwork side supports with a stylised pattern, resting on sculpted pads and connected by a substantial central crossbar. Beautiful old patina. The piece shows signs of use consistent with its age, visible in the photographs. Documented provenance: British Import, acquisition in 1994. Original document retained.
