coffee table with marble top, walnut structure by METGE

Marble top, 2.5cm thick, rounded corners, corbin-spout edges, tints; white, garnet, gray. Structure in solid carved walnut, hand-carved bands and feet. Decorations acanthus leaf, flowers. Mounted base in the louis XV style, terminations in rolls on crowbar. Very good general condition, remarkable finishing work. Uncracked tray without impact, some discreet marks of time. Naturally nuanced wood structure, some scratches of use, (a big on close-up) not visible on the overview. Auguste metgé was a cabinetmaker, restorer and creator emeritus of the early twentieth century. He studied at the school of fine art, to acquire the techniques of sculpture. He took over the family workshop in revel (81) where this table was made.
