Carlo Scarpa's “Scuderia” table, produced by Bernini in 1977 from a design developed during his work at Villa Valmarana in Vicenza in the early 1970s. The name Scuderia – Italian for stable – refers to the estate's historic stables, which Scarpa restored and transformed. In the years leading up to his death, he established his studio within these former stables while living in the quarters above, working there until his passing in 1978. This example is crafted from solid walnut, featuring a beautifully figured top that highlights the natural character of the wood. The distinctive legs, composed of paired cylindrical elements at each corner, give the table a strong architectural presence. A remarkable design from Scarpa's later period, where architecture, craftsmanship and personal history converge. Good vintage condition with light signs of wear consistent with age and use.
