French oil lantern

The lantern features a heavy pewter oil reservoir base with a carry handle that has a cut out hanging hole so the lantern can be fixed to the wall if required. Above the base is the wick and shade holder with the wick turning screw to one side. The shade is in the form of a clear glass funnel that allows the light to shine through brightly creating a warm and inviting ambience. This lantern is the perfect size for a tabletop or can be hung on the wall. The lantern is in good antique condition considering its age, with minor bumps and lovely aged patina which all adds to its character. It has been well maintained over the years and the glass funnel is complete with no chips or cracks. There is currently no wick in the lamp so this would need replacing prior to use.
