Walnut filing cabinet from notary b. pichon (lyon).

The black and gold metal label seems to stare at us from the pediment of this superb walnut piece of furniture. It proudly displays its pedigree: "b. Pichon, picquet & cie srs. 170 cour lafayette, lyon." we come across this furniture from time to time and they are always very popular because we are here in the high end of the era (30s-40s). The original patina of walnut is simply fascinating. It gives it its classy and warm side. We see with the pediment and the cornice, which here only serve to decorate the piece of furniture, that the desire to do well motivated the people who made this piece of furniture. It opens with two beautiful walnut paneled doors, thanks to a beautiful original two-point brass lock which works perfectly with its key. Inside, 16 cardboard-type storage lockers, specially designed to accommodate files. The boards are fixed and of good quality here again. The back is paneled and the piece of furniture rests on two front legs which can be seen discreetly pointed under the plinth. Some traces of wear here and there, all superficial. A magical piece of furniture and superb condition. Ready to use (the lockers remain adapted to our current files but or can also make this piece of furniture a wardrobe, a shoe cabinet etc.).
