Superb pair of Wassily armchairs designed by Marcel Breuer in the 1920s, then head of the Bauhaus. This armchair was revolutionary for its time, as it was made of bent steel tubing and leather, inexpensive materials for the time. The manufacturing method is also very ingenious and therefore easy to reproduce. It was first mass-produced by Gavina in the 1940s, and then by Knoll International in the 1990s. This pair of armchairs is in very good vintage condition. It shows no damage or missing parts. However, they do show some signs of wear due to age. Above all, they have a beautiful patina. Both armchairs are signed "Marcel Breuer" engraved in the leather (in the photos). This engraving indicates that this is a Knoll International edition from the 1990s.
