Modernist bookshelf. Designed and manufactured by the Reens brothers. Antique flat-pack furniture with a patented piece connection system. An ingenious method of fitting the different pieces together and securing them with a brass support. Composed of 4 sections. The top part is open and has a depth of 20 cm. The 2 central sections have sliding glass doors. The bottom part has a lid. The lid still has the original key. The hinges of the lid are designed to prevent it from falling. When opening the lid and lifting it, it opens completely. The patent for the assembly system was filed in 1946. This bookshelf was likely produced around that time, making it approximately 80 years old. It is still in very good condition considering its age. Quality Dutch design.
