Rustic oak coffee table – Apothecary spirit – 19th century

Antique low solid oak furniture in a rustic style, which can serve as a large flat desk, a display table, or be repurposed as an XXL coffee table. This piece features a decorative front with metal pull knobs shaped like rosettes. It has a total of 6 drawer fronts (3 on each side), of which 2 drawers are actually operational and functional. The other 4 fronts are purely decorative and do not open. The fronts are moulded in relief. The top is assembled with a mitred frame. The wood displays pronounced grain, natural knots, and a golden patina. The side panels are carved with a diamond pattern (point of diamond). The whole rests on curved feet. General condition: The furniture is sound, and the 2 functional drawers slide well. It shows normal signs of use related to its age: slight natural splits in the grain of the wood on the top and the lower rail (without affecting its sturdiness), as well as an old repair with wood filler visible around one of the knobs.
