Boulle side table

Elegant Napoleon III period side cabinet, featuring magnificent "Boulle" marquetry, named after Charles-André Boulle. The inlays of chiselled brass, inspired by rustic themes, are shaped like intertwined scrolls, flowers, foliage, and baskets. This console opens with a door that pulls from the right, composed at the corners of four concave elements: these are separated by chiselled bronze motifs, one of which is fitted with a key for opening. The oval-shaped central motif, slightly domed, features a significant bronze moulding, decorated with a flower accompanied by beading. The interior, made of mahogany, is structured with two adjustable shelves of the same wood, with a black varnished edge. Furthermore, this quality console is enhanced with numerous bronzes, notably sculpted in the form of mermaids at the top of the uprights, and flowers for the drops. It is topped with a white Carrara marble.
