Vintage Executive Swivel Chair by Otto Zapf for Topstar

Executive office chair by German industrial designer Otto Zapf, originally from 1975; this is a re-edition by Topstar. Fully functional, featuring height adjustment, a lockable tilt mechanism, and casters. Swivel base. Upholstered in black leather, with "Otto Zapf" ​​embossed on the back of the leather. The chair shows moderate signs of use. Otto Zapf was a German industrial designer and entrepreneur. In the 1960s, he formed a brilliant partnership with Dieter Rams. As a co-founder of the furniture manufacturer Vitsoe, he was responsible for various groundbreaking designs in post-war German design. Otto Zapf’s own designs are characterized by the absence of sharp corners and edges (to quote Zapf: "Because I have never discovered sharp edges on any person, I no longer want to believe that the objects we surround ourselves with must have sharp edges"). This characteristic is also evident in the design offered here, which dates back to 1975.
