Large ceramic dish signed Roger Picault

Decorative ceramic plate signed by Robert Picault, from Vallauris. Robert Picault is one of the emblematic ceramists of Vallauris, active in the mid-20th century. His work is recognised for its graphic decorations, often stylised, featuring motifs of animals, birds, fish, or geometric shapes. He fully embodies the spirit of Vallauris ceramics, balancing artisanal creation, decorative modernity, and freedom of line. This plate features a beautiful decoration of a stylised bird, rendered in emerald green, brown, and beige tones on a lightly crackled light background. The design, simple and expressive, plays with elongated and dynamic lines, giving the bird a lovely sense of movement.
