Marmoucha carpet. 100% wool. Originally made for family use to cope with the cold in the high atlas fixtures, they are handcrafted by local women. These carpets are characterized by a beautiful and very silky quality wool which explains the higher price than a "classic" beni orarain carpet. The dots are knotted. The bottom is off-white made of virgin natural sheep wool. The colored diamonds symbolize the woman and more specifically fertility, they are made of wool tinted with vegetable dyes.
