Description
This decorative spice pot was designed by stuart devlin for viners in the 1970s. In stainless steel, it has a gilded metal removable cover with craters that resemble the moon surface. It is marked at the base. It is a unique object, originally designed as a potpourri orb, with a strong brutalist touch. In excellent vintage condition. Stuart devlin was an australian-born british silversmith known for his intricate cutlery, tableware, and highly collectable items. In the 1960s he moved permanently to london where he was widely acclaimed for his style. Viners is an english brand of cutlery, kitchenware and dinnerware products, founded in 1901 in sheffield by adolphe viener and his sons. Still in production, the firm prospered in the 1960s. Approximate sizes: diameter 8 cm, height 8 cm.
