2 authentic dry pastels in perfect condition signed Louis Minet (1841-1923): 1 autumnal landscape of Normandy. This typical and very representative work of this painter dates from 1900. This painting is in perfect condition with its original oak frame and period gilding. Frame size: 78 cm x 61 cm. Dimensions of the work: 49 x 31.5 cm. 1 summer village in Normandy still from the same period around 1900. This painting is also in very good condition and forms a counterpart to the previous one. Frame size: 78.5 cm x 61 cm. Dimensions of the work: 50 X 32.5 cm. These 2 works with almost similar dimensions have been cleaned. A fixative was applied (sennelier), a new master key was added. The fully restored frame is very sturdy. The set is ready to hang. Émile-louis minet (1841-1923) was born in Normandy in Rouen where he studied at the school of fine arts. He started his career as an interior designer, but his passion for painting took over. He studied with great Parisian painters such as Humbert and Jules Lefebvre who allowed him to develop his own style. Émile-Louis Minet was a prolific painter, producing a large quantity of works during his life. He is famous for his Norman landscape paintings, but also painted portraits, still lifes and genre scenes.
