Large vintage geometric chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari made in Italy in the 1950s. The Sciolari brand was founded in Rome by Angelo Sciolari in 1892, but it was his namesake grandson—known to history as “Gaetano”—who achieved international success from the 1950s onward. Angelo (known as “Gaetano”) Sciolari (1927–1994) was one of the most highly regarded Italian designers of the 20th century. Nearly 30 years after his death, his name and designs continue to enjoy great popularity. In the 1950s, the Sciolari brand made its mark in the United States with its innovative and futuristic designs while maintaining an elegant and refined aesthetic. Very good vintage condition.
