"Chopping Block with Axe" side table by Raphael Springmann

Solid wood and steel side table. Designed by Raphael Springmann, 21st century. Designed by Raphael Springmann, the "Chopping Block with Axe" side table brings together materials and forms drawn from different contexts. The base is formed from a solid wood chopping block, retaining its natural splits and traces of handworking. Rising from the block is a steel axe head, through which a shaped wooden element supports the tabletop above. The top is carefully finished with a smooth surface, while its front edge preserves the natural contour of the trunk and part of the original bark, keeping the material's origin clearly visible. The construction alternates refined surfaces with elements left in their natural state, reflecting Springmann's attention to materials and the relationship between function and craftsmanship. The chopping block is further signed with the carved inscription "RAPHAEL" and marked with a branded stamp. Good condition. It may show some signs of age and use.
