Antique buffet in Louis XVI style with burl elm veneer and marble top.
Antique Louis XVI-style buffet from the late 19th century, made of oak and mahogany with a burl elm veneer. The piece features three doors and two drawers, decorated with gilded iron fittings. The burl elm veneer has a warm brown color with distinctive grain patterns and natural tone variations. The central door is adorned with an oval medallion depicting a female figure in a classical dress, in white relief on a teal background, surrounded by a gilded metal frame decorated with foliage, scrolls, and ribbons. The top of the piece is a light brown and beige marble slab, with natural veins and color variations, 3.2 cm thick, resting freely on the wooden base and removable for transport. With its three doors and two drawers, this buffet offers storage space for dishes, linens, or other items. It can be used as a buffet, storage cabinet, or china cabinet in a dining room or living room. Good antique condition with signs of age and use on the wooden surfaces and fittings. The marble top is intact, except for a few small chips. The locks on the doors no longer function properly, but the doors close normally. As with many antique wooden furniture pieces, traces of historical woodworm activity may be present. Our wooden furniture is treated preventively against woodworms before shipping.
