Persian carpet isfahan wool and silk, circa 1950. Velvet in lamb's wool of high quality called "kork" and silk, made on silk. Delicate carpet with central ivory medallion inlaid with rinses, garlands of flowers in arabesque surrounding a starry medallion sky blue / night on a poppy red background. These carpets are made in the city of isfahan in southwestern iran. They are considered today as one of the most beautiful persian carpets. They are characterized by very high density, richly detailed patterns and high quality of materials. Dimensions: 160x100 cm. Condition: slightly worn edges, a few white dots of knots visible in the red background, shortened fringes, small velvet defects folded on one edge (visible in the photos).
