Beech children's bench, Louis XVI style, Early 20th century

Rare petite banquette pour enfant, louis XVI style, with beech structure painted in very clear grey. A studded leather coating, coloured in light brown, envelops the back, back and seat of this seat. The latter, traditionally made on straps and springs, is comfortable and quality. She's in excellent condition. This authentic property features two accotoirs, with an originally aviated shape highlighted by volutes coils. Their front songs are nicely wrapped and endowed with clouté leather cuffs. The sides of these accotoirs are more modestly crafted. The same scalloped motifs can be found, in frises, at the top of the dossier, the rear studs, as well as in the seat traverse. It is also embellished with decors en rosaces on its ends and centre. The set rests on six feet elegantly turned and canned. They are divided as follows: three in front and three in the rear. We will greatly appreciate the singular allure of this atypical banquette, which can comfortably accommodate up to three bambins or two adults. With its reasonable dimensions, it will adapt perfectly to a children's room or an entrance. Period: mid-19th century. Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop. Finish only waxed.
