Magnificent slip ceramic pitcher from the early 1900s. The pitcher is made of earthenware from orchie. The glaze is light yellow with a red and green poppy pattern. The handle is brown with a branch effect. The base is navy blue. Small yellow flowers appear in volume. Condition: the pitcher is in good overall condition, the enamel is a little chipped on the top edge (trust the photos). This is natural wear and tear. Dimensions: height 20 cm & diameter 15 cm (with handle) in ceramics and pottery, slip is clay paste diluted in water. Slip decoration consists of adding slip reliefs to pottery, and pottery decorated in this way is called “barbotines”. The slip decoration is a relief applied freehand on the pottery by pouring fairly thick slip into it.
