Black and chrome armchair Eileen Gray for Ecart Int. vintage 80'S

Armchair deckchair by eileen gray for ecart international, this armchair is part of the 1st reissues of the 80s by andré putmann and ecart international. It is made of black lacquered wood, fastener and hooves in chromed metal, suspended seat and reclining headrest in quilted leather. Good seating condition, small scratches on the front of the seat and small paint strain on the back (photo) Eileen gray (1878-1976) was a prominent figure in architecture and design in the twentieth century. She is one of the pioneers of these disciplines with charlotte perriand (1903-1999), whose taste for innovation and independence she shares. Starting in painting, specializing in lacquer, eileen gray gradually turned to craftsmanship, decoration and interior design, before designing innovative architectural projects for her time.
